Short Bio:
Gunita Zaube was raised speaking Latvian. She has been writing poetry since the age of twelve. Her first publication appeared in print in the children’s magazine “Zīlīte” at the age of fourteen. The same year she was awarded 3rd prize in poetry competition by the same magazine. At the age of seventeen she was invited to literary camp “Aicinājums” along with other gifted young poets and writing competitions winners between ages of 14 – 18 years.
Gunita Zaube moved to live to London, England in 2003. She has attended poetry classes at Morley College , City Lit and The Poetry School.
She is a member of the British Haiku Society, Tanka Society of America and United Haiku and Tanka Society.
She is currently the editor of British Haiku Society newsletter, the Brief.
